The Devotional - A Look at theBook #626
by Jesse Abel
Papa “J” May Say
There are a number; if not all of the orthodox religions that refuse to acknowledge the Book of Revelation. In speaking with an Armenian Orthodox Pastor last evening, he nearly scoffed at dispensational truth.
Thoughts about Life
Looking over the preparation of this trip I am amazed of all that took place. First; my passport is dated April 2004; my first thought is… wow! That was nearly eight years ago. I am thankful that we will not be burdened with time in eternity. No past, no future, just the Day of the LORD and in His presence. Anyway, we were going to help put the finishing touches on the new church. So with two experienced carpenters and six others who could hit the nail on their finger easier than the nail in their hand we began training in March 2004. On June 11th and 12th we stayed at the Evangelical Baptist Center in Ashford, CT. I will name our team members; at the helm, The LORD Jesus Christ. Second in command; Pastor Dave Gadoury and his wife Margaret; Mrs. Kathy Otis, Bernadette Paquette, carpenters Greg Brennan and Tim Livesey. Also and bringing up the rear is Gary Brown and myself. I supply these names because I am sure these folks will pop up from time to time and let’s not forget Sergei and Alexander Plakhov. Sergei is Pastor of God’s Mercy Baptist Church in the Ukraine. I will provide the name of the towns as soon as Alexander reminds me by email.
Ecclesiastes 8
Verses 9 – When I was young which for those who are concerned… I was young, yesterday and I will be young tomorrow, but today I am elderly. Solomon says that he had the opportunity to apply his heart to every work known to man in his day. Have you given this much thought? There is a television program called, the Undercover Boss. If you apply yourself to the wisdom that can be projected from the show you will see that there is a time when one man rules over another to his own hurt.
We do a lot of things in a lifetime, many of the things we do are not worthy of comment and even some that are; are sometimes not to be mentioned and like all of God’s children; we can say amen to this statement of the apostle Paul. “For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed in and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.” 2 Timothy 1:12 what day is that? The Day of the LORD (Eternity with Jesus) if you do not have this Day understood, then the one who rules over you is doing so, too your own hurt.
I am sure we could move into the next section of Ecclesiastes 8:10-18 but I would like a fresh start with it, so we will start that section on Monday.
