The Devotional

What does Papa “J” Say?

If the source of wisdom came from man, why would anyone entertain the thought of the existence of God? It is God alone who gives wisdom; counsel, understanding, strength and authority. The wisdom of man is applied by instruction, God's wisdom is given to man by love. Huge difference. Proverbs 8:14-17

Last evening at church the pastor led us in a Bible Study that focused on spiritual warfare. As believers in Christ, this is a topic that we need to be cognizant of in every moment of the day. If you are a person whom God has saved, then you are totally aware of the that salvation. You find yourself thinking about Christ, praying to the Father and seeking the wonderful ministry of the Holy Spirit of God working through you. This is the sanctifying work of God's grace that will one day guide you into the final stage of our so great salvation called glorification. Romans 8:30. Yet, for many of us we become distracted, this distraction can come from a variety of sources. The programs and plans of churches that fail to understand spiritual warfare do the most harm. Hebrews 2:1-4 The second harm comes from a lack of biblical teaching and personal bible study to understand the grace of God. 2 Timothy 2:1-15 and lastly the harm of not understanding that the children of God are at war with the children of Satan. Jude 1:1-23. Many children of God are shipwrecked, many more are on rough seas headed for the rocks. If you are one who is shipwrecked or floundering toward the rocks, please take the moment and read these final two verses of scripture in Jude 1:24-25.

The Gospel of John

John 18:12-14 The High Priest Caiaphas had sent a detachment of soldiers to capture Jesus. The detachment was led by two men. The captain of the detachment and Judas Iscariot, see John 18:3. Once they placed Jesus under arrest they led Him to another Jewish man whose name is Annas. A more detailed account of the arrest of Jesus is found in Matthew 26 if you've the time to read it.

But this beginning of mock trials are recorded for us to see that world in the days of the life of Jesus is the same as the world in which we live today. The truth is that if Jesus were among us today, He would be chased down and crucified just as He was then, would you like to know why? It would be for the same reasons. We like our religious theologies better than we like Jesus. We would say like Caiaphas. “It is advantageous that one man should die for the people” That is the same message of religion today.

I believe that we put the LORD Jesus to death every time we open our mouth about the Second Coming of Christ, would you care to guess about the many views of His Second Coming there are? There are at least four and each of these four have several sub views. Christianity is not DEAD and neither is the nation of Israel. We have led Jesus to the Cross and religion keeps the people of the world confused. A tool of Satan that in desperation seeks to keep Him on the Cross, but guess what? He is not on the Cross He is Risen. 1 Corinthians 15:50-58.

This is late in coming to you today because my computer crashed earlier.
