The Devotional

Papa “J” says

Happy April Foot Stool Day, LORD! Hebrews 1:13. The fool has said in the heart, there is no God. Psalm 14:1

As I have said many times, being in a submarine at four hundred feet is like being in the most peaceful place. Like a peaceful walk in the woods in a near perfect climate, or setting on a log next to a calm lake or pond. I think that this is the ideal depth for Sundays on a submarine. Usually there is a period of time on Sundays called “Holiday Routine” this is when all the people on board (except for the duty section, usually one fourth or one third of the crew) will be able to have a little R & R. People playing chess, acey-ducey or cards, others reading or listening to a tape from home. (Must be CD's these days) but whatever, the rest or recreation it is needed. All military people need time away from the critical moment called the front. In all cases it does not matter if a quartermaster in the Army with supplies on your mind. Or a quartermaster in the Navy with plotting and navigation on your mind. A break from the routine will keep these folks from making mistakes that cost lives. Pray for the men and women who serve and who keep the enemy off our land, do this and our walks in the woods and our ponds and lakes will remain peaceful and their sacrifice will be worth it. Prayer; normal routine of the day!

The Second Epistle of John

2 John 7-9 Do we need to be alert to deception these days? Yes, even as we see the Day of the LORD approaching at a rapid pace, deception is advancing in time and at the same speed. Do believers need to be on guard so they do not become victims of deception? Yes, the apostle is talking to a woman who we have identified as Kyria or Martha depending on the Greek or Hebrew rendering.

So is it coincidental or purpose that John speaks to her about being deceived. 1 Timothy 2:14. I suppose a case could be made here, but I would rather look at biblical deception as a passive attitude toward the deceiver and term that the apostle uses, “antichrist”. To believe that all churches lead to the “He is Risen” or “He is LORD” teaching of Christ, is to believe in the deceptive teaching of antichrist theology and that my friend is deception.

So whoever transgresses or goes beyond the doctrine of Christ, then this one has been deceived even though at one time they were not. All churches do not march in the direction of the coming day of the LORD, so to be passive about this is a critical error is being antichrist minded. Matthew 7:13-20. Are you thinking this double talk, then your on the right track. The teaching of the antichrist is produced from a double minded heart. James 4:7-10.
