A Look at the Book #139

The Devotional

Papa “J” says

There are only two paths in life, both provide a lifestyle. Walk as your heart leads you, forget the Creator and die in the death of judgment. Or; Remember Him and live in the life of judgment. Ecclesiastes 11:9 through Ecclesiastes 12:14

There are lights in the harbor to guide ships safely to a mooring pier. As long as the ship's captain, or harbor pilot keep the ship aligned with the lights the ship and crew are safe. When the ship moves out of line there is a danger of running aground. Airplanes and runways operate in much the same way, get out of line with the lights on the ground and the safety of the people on board decreases. God has given us direction in life as well. God is One God, He is not the rain god, sun god, moon god or any other form of deity developed from the minds of ungodly people or nations. The controversy is great and the mystery of godliness is powerful, but the truth of God is so simple that even a child can know Him, one only needs to follow the revealed light. 1 Timothy 3:14-16; John 12:35-50. Take time to read this scripture. If you are vertical today, God has a plan for your life and it is much better than your plan. Why wait till you go horizontal to find out that God has been lighting a path for you to follow, but your choice has been darkness and stumbling. John 3:19. Of course if you have the time. Read the entire gospel of John.

A Look at the Psalms

Psalm 1 We have looked at the first three verses of this Psalm and know that we live in a world of ungodliness, of sinners and of scornful people. We have also understood that walking, standing and sitting in these ungodly circles of influence causes our joy in the LORD to vanish as the blessings of God are extinguished. Along with this loss of blessing is the potential loss of security, comfort and biblical prosperity.

What? Can godly people become ungodly? Does God hold us accountable for our actions? You can count on it. Titus 3:9-11; 2 Timothy 4:14-15 and there are many other passages like these that call our attention to duty, to faith and to the practice of righteousness. God will not be mocked, whatever we sow is what we shall reap. If we sow in the Spirit, we shall reap the blessings of the Spirit and if we sow to the flesh, we will reap the wind.

God knows the way for us to walk, and in His path there is no stumbling. Thus the godly will not stand in the congregation of sinners, nor will the ungodly stand in the congregation of the righteous. One loves the Light and follows in His way. One loves darkness and follows in his way. There is no religious exercise to gain the favor of God, one only needs to follow the Light.
