The Devotional

Papa J's rules for Livin #159

Socialism is mankind's tool to ignore God, Oh! Oh! Was that politically correct?Well, NO! But try this one. Socialism is not Satan's idea, it belongs to mankind alone and will be judged at the Great White Throne of Revelation 20:11-15.

When a submarine goes to sea after a long stay in port it must be ready. There must be enough provision on board to meet the need of the crew and there must be enough men on board to meet the operational readiness of the ship. There must be a purpose for the mission ahead and there must be a sense of satisfaction in the hearts of the men on board that all of these needs are not only met but are on board with them. Satisfied hearts provide clear thinking minds and clear thinking minds will make decisions that eventually bring about the words of the captain who says. “Well done men, mission accomplished.” In AD 33 at the age of 37 the Captain of our Salvation (Hebrews 2:10 KJV) prepared His church for the battle ahead by becoming the Lamb of God that took away the sin of the world. So with sin removed as the barrier, fellowship with God is restored and the needs of His Crew are met and in place. There should be no question then, that our hearts are satisfied that sin is removed. We should thus be clear thinkers, our works then should be of a satisfied heart that hears the Words of our Captain as He says to us. “Well done, thy good and faithful servant, I shall praise your name” Hebrews 2:10-13.

1 Corinthians 5

1 Corinthians 5:9-13 If you have experienced immoral conduct, these passages are hard to run your eyes through and for the most part, whether a little or a lot, all of us have been touched by the immorality that surrounds us daily. This is why we do not hear much from the pulpits of our churches on these passages. Everyone is offended by the thoughts of this form of sin and the reason is; that it affects us severely as it brings to mind events in our own lives of the past, or the present. Even the future since it is easy to harbor these sins in our mind as we ready them to set sail when it's “high tide”.

So as verses 9 and 10 point out, immoral conduct is in the world and we are not to associate with the world in this sin. We have through the Blood of Christ been cleansed of the filth of immorality, our clothing is no longer like the clothing of Jude 1:23. But as Jude points out early in his epistle we must be willing to contend earnestly for the faith that was once delivered by Jesus Christ and His apostles to the saints. Jude 1:3-4.

Sometimes in our churches we become knowledgeable of brothers or sisters in Christ who become ensnared once again by immoral conduct. While it is okay to approach them in the power of the Holy Spirit and exhort them to repent. It is not okay to keep company with them, to fellowship with them or to socialize with them. By doing these things we are ignoring the command of God to leave these people alone. Actually we are doing them a dis-service since it seems to them that we approve.
