A Devotional Study of the Living Word of God

Psalm 119:89 The Word of God was written over a span of six thousand years, but His Word has been settled in heaven... Forever. It would be futile to argue with that. History reveals that men have tried, but the Word of God still stands and so it will, forever.

Good Morning

The woodpecker listens for the sounds of the wood eating bug before it drills into the wood and finds the meal. The robin listens for the worm as the worm eats its way through the subsurfaces of the ground. The keen ears of God's created beings depend on His provision. As a result their lives prosper, their young are born and they continue to bless us with their presence. On the other hand we consider that our lives are needy. We are bent on stuffing our lives full of noise and other distractions that cause us to be dull of hearing, Hebrews 5:11. We ask but we do not obtain, James 4:3. Yet the Word of God reveals that God has much to say to us, but sadly we do not wish to hear Him since we've no time. We do pray and we beg, but we do not listen, mostly our prayer time is demanding from God a favor, a healing or for the salvation of some friend or loved one. God says, “Whom shall I send?” But we do not hear Him, because we have left the Throne Room and now we are busy with personal things of noise and distraction. In Psalm 29 the words, “The voice of the LORD” appears seven times and at least three other times the effect of His voice is heard by creation in that even by the voice of the LORD, deer give birth. Psalm 29:9. When we stand before the “Bema Seat” of Christ we may very well hear Him say. “Do you hear me now?”

Romans 1

Romans 1:16 I love the Word of God, His Word takes me on journeys that I could never take in this human failed body of sin. I like looking into Lexicons, Bible Dictionaries, Concordances, Commentaries and other references that take me to the heights and depths of His love for me and the people around me. The result of searching is that I become unashamed. The gospel is the power of God revealed to man through the sacrificial offering of God's Son. The power of the gospel does not rely on religion or philosophy, nor does the gospel rely on law. If the gospel is to remain true, then it must always depend upon God and be available to the Jews and Greeks (gentile) the Greek word elleni is used and refers to all nations, not just the Greek. Taking this a step further: If the gospel were a religion, what religion would it be? If the gospel were a philosophy, which philosophy would be correct? Or, what law could we obey? The salvation that God provides is for everyone, not for a selected few, so as long as people call upon the name of the LORD, they will personally be saved by the power of God alone. Romans 9:9-13.

Romans 1:17 Faith is not a religion, now I know that this is contrary to what some of us think or believe. The word in the Greek for faith is “pistos” which can be translated “assurance” or “fidelity” So the deeper connection to our relationship to God through Christ does not hang on a religion, philosophy or law of man. Salvation is founded upon The Faith of the Righteous Son of God. Jesus Christ who willingly become the LAMB of God who takes away the sin of the WORLD and when our faith agrees with His Faith, God is able to look at our soul and stamp, “JUSTIFIED” over our name that is already written in the Book of Life. This is why the “Just shall live by faith” If we die without this “assurance” in our soul, the stamp of justification will not be over our name and sadly the name will be erased.
